Ministries - Communication

The communication ministry of the Diocese of Chicago serves the Gospel and diocesan vision through reinforcing and extending our connections and witness as an Episcopal and Anglican community in Northern Illinois, the nation, and the world. Communication is the means by which community is formed and expressed. It is the avenue by which we discover our identity and calling as members of Christ’s body, the Church. It is foundational to our mission.

The ministry of communications is carried out through a variety of media and programs overseen by the Office of Communication. The principal agents are the diocesan website, www.episcopalchicago.org; the diocesan newspaper, Anglican Advance; and the newsletter for clergy and lay leaders—Connect. Additional means for carrying out this ministry are electronic media projects—through videos, PowerPoint presentations, email lists, and digital resources (CD and DVD); public relations resources (calendars, exhibits, posters, pictorial directory); workshops; and media relations (press releases, interviews and press conferences).
