THE COMMISSION ON MINISTRY STRUCTURE AND PURPOSE The Commission on Ministry serves as an advisor and assists the Bishop in the implementation of Title III Ministry Canons: in determining present and future opportunities and needs for ministry of all baptized persons; in the designing and oversight of the ongoing process for recruitment, discernment, formation for ministry and assessment of readiness, particularly for ordained leadership. An Ordination Sabbath for 2010 After conferring with the Commission on Ministry and the Standing Committee, Bishop Jeffey Lee has elected to institute a sabbath time for the ordination process for 2010. The time will be used for further examination of the needs for ordained leadership in the diocese, and of the role and function of ordination canons, general ordination exams, and clinical pastoral education in the formation process.
