POSITION OPENINGS 

Music Director, St. John's, Flossmoor

The Episcopal Church of St John the Evangelist is seeking a person of active faith to minister within the congregation as Director of Music.  St. John’s is a congregation of 350 members, located 25 miles south of downtown Chicago.  Music is a vital component of worship at the principal service on Sunday.  The Director of Music serves as organist and choir director and works collaboratively with the rector to enrich the offering of music as worship by choir and congregation.

St. John’s has an enthusiastic and talented volunteer SATB choir of 12-15 voices.  The primary musical style at St. John’s is traditional, although diversions are welcome.  The choir currently rehearses before and after the principal worship service on Sunday mornings.  The Director Music position is considered a quarter-time position (approximately 10 hours/week).  A detailed position description and application information are posted on the parish website: www.stjohns-flossmoor.org.

Music Director, Parttime, St. Benedict's, Bolingbrook

We are a small but growing and diverse community that enjoys lively worship.  We are looking for a dynamic musician to creatively lead the music program, including playing piano and organ at services, directing the adult choir (school year only), and planning worship with the priest. Experience with Episcopal, Lutheran, or Roman Catholic liturgy and music would be an asset. During choir season, the position requires an average of 10 hours per week.
