Giving - Planned Giving
Is Your Congregation Ready for Planned Giving?
  1. Is your congregation’s budget balanced?
  2. Is your stewardship program well developed?
  3. Is the congregation growing?
  4. Is your board generous with its treasure, as well as its time and talent?
  5. Is a capital campaign part of your recent past or immediate future?
  6. Does a specific person immediately come to mind as a likely prospect for a planned gift?
  7. Do you have the physical, financial, and human resources to conduct a planned giving program?
  8. Do you have the patience to wait five years before receiving your first gift?

If you would answer in the affirmative to most or all of these questions, it may be time to begin considering a structured planned giving program at your church.

In many cases, planned giving is often correlative with an effort to begin or augment an endowment. For an introduction to endowments, please visit this page.

If you need additional information about beginning or improving an existent planned giving program, please contact Mike Stephenson, Canon for Development, (312) 751-6725.
