SUSTAINABILITY TASK FORCE

Our mission is to grow the church, form the faithful and change the world by integrating sustainable practices throughout the diocese.

This task force has been meeting since January 2009 as a result of a resolution at lthe 2008 Diocesan Convention asking the bishop to name a task force on sustainability. To date we have accomplished the following:

• Developed a sustainability initiative which will be presented at Diocesan Convention 2009
• Engaged clergy and leadership to discuss where sustainable practices apply to our church.
• Performing a diocesan-wide survey measuring needs and interests on sustainable activities.
• Partnering with Faith in Place http://www.faithinplace.org/ , a local interfaith organization, for guidance and best practices from a sustainability perspective.
• Planning educational workshops for Diocesan Convention
