Hispanic Ministry

The Diocese of Chicago has a vibrant ministry through its eight Hispanic congregations, the Hispanic Affairs Committee, and the Congregation Commission. At the 172nd Annual Convention November 209 and 21, 2009, the Diocese of Chicago welcomed two Hispanic congregations into the Episcopal Church:  Our Lady of Guadalupe in Chicago's Little Village neighborhood, and Sagrada Familia-Holy Family in Lake Villa.

Hispanic Youth Event

The Hispanic Youth Event will be Saturday, September 12, 2009, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Glen Ellyn.  The event this year is titled "Chatting with God" and will explore the impact of technology on young people, their spiritual lives, and the Church. The day includes small group activities, games, a panel discussion, music, and a Eucharist.  The Hispanic Youth Event, now in its 19th year, is sponsored by the Hispanic Affairs Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago. St. Mark's is located at 393 N.
