Clergy Annual Report for 2015
December 22, 2015
A letter from Bishop Jeffrey D. Lee to Retired Clergy, Clergy in Specialized Ministries and Clergy in Secular Employment who are Canonically Resident in the Diocese of Chicago
My dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
As explained on the form, Title 1, Canon 6.2 of the Constitution and Canons of the Episcopal Church requires that “Every Bishop, Presbyter, or Deacon whose report is not included in a parochial report shall also report on the exercise of such office, and if there has been none, the causes or reasons which have prevented the same.” The Diocese of Chicago Canon 15.1 requires that “Every member of the Clergy other than a Rector, Priest-in-Charge or Deacon-in-Charge, shall report his or her occasional services, and if there have been none, the causes or reasons which have prevented the same.”
I appreciate the ministry you offer. Your report, along with many others, creates a picture of much solid ministry being offered throughout our diocese and beyond. Thank you for sharing your gifts. Your response helps us to tell the story of our diocesan ministry to seekers, donors, and others who benefit from hearing about the work that you and others do. We would appreciate receiving your report no later than January 31, 2016. If you prefer, feel free to send your report in a letter format.
Jeffrey D. Lee
Bishop of Chicago
