Invitation to Clergy Quiet Days in Advent and Pre-Lent

Bishop Lee and Dean Dominic Barrington invite clergy to register for two upcoming Clergy Quiet Days that explore the theme of a year of regula.
"In recent months, Dominic and I have dreamed of programing a "year of regula" -- inspired in part by Charles LaFond's visit -- and I am pleased to be able to announce some next steps. These are offerings to help us deepen our relationship with God in Christ."
Two speakers have been invited to offer clergy quiet days in two locations: at St. James Commons in Chicago and at St. Paul's in Peoria, one pair of days in early Advent and one before the start of Lent. The events will run from 10 am to 3 pm, including lunch, and will feature talks from the speakers, opportunities for quiet, and a mid-day celebration of the Eucharist.

The Rev. Dr. L. William Countryman is Professor Emeritus of Biblical Studies at The Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, California and author of many books, including Dirt, Greed and Sex: Sexual Ethics in the New Testament and Conversations with Scripture - The Psalms.
The Rev. Winnie Varghese is Director of Community Outreach at Trinity Church, Wall Street, and editor of What We Shall Become? The Future and Structure of the Episcopal Church and Church Meets World: Church's Teachings for a Changing World.
