Associate of Operations (Part time)

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Evanston seeks an experienced Associate of Operations to partner with its liturgical staff and oversee general operations of the church. This is a new, 20 hour per week exempt position (schedule to be determined). This is not an entry level position and benefit package includes salary, pension, vacation, and health reimbursement account. 

The successful candidate will be self-motivated with professional demeanor and presence, positive attitude, and excellent verbal communication and inter-personal skills. They must possess strong organizational skills and an attention to detail, proficiency in office procedures and methods, knowledge of office computers and software. The successful candidate will demonstrate a history of independent problem solving and decision making.

We are a small staff and so it is essential that the Associate of Operations be enthusiastic about working as a full member of the team and motivating volunteers.  A sense of humor is a must.

Accompanist/Section Leader (Part time)

The Episcopal Church of St. James the Less seeks a part-time choral accompanist and section leader. The person in this position assists the choir director at Thursday evening rehearsals and Sunday morning worship services, accompanying anthems or singing with the choir as needed. Additional worship services may occasionally be required. Responsibilities include playing choral accompaniments and individual vocal parts on the piano, and preparing one’s own vocal part. Qualifications include experience accompanying and singing with choral ensembles, comfort with different worship styles, reliable attendance, and effective preparation skills. The ability to sing solos is a plus, as is the ability to play the organ. The church has a Yamaha grand piano.

The position will entail 3 - 4 hours per week and the compensation is $50 per call. Director of Family Ministry

Assistant Organist (Part time)

All Saints’ Episcopal Church is a vibrant, dynamic parish on the north side of Chicago. We seek a part-time Assistant Organist to play approximately one Sunday each month and to assist the Director of Music at two rehearsals each month, dates to be determined mutually. Sunday services are at 9 am and 11 am. Rehearsal dates vary depending on season, but generally include Sundays at 8 am, Wednesdays at 7 pm, or Saturday mornings. When present on Sundays, the Assistant Organist will play the prelude, postlude, and hymns on the organ, and occasionally accompany the choir or congregation on the piano. The ideal candidate will be flexible with a variety of musical styles, from traditional repertoire and hymnody (Bach,Hymnal 1982) through more contemporary expressions.

Youth Director (Part time)

Church of the Holy Nativity in Clarendon Hills, Illinois seeks a part time youth director to lead our Jr. and Sr. High programs for grades 6-12. Holy Nativity has an active and committed youth community that is excited for the arrival of our new youth director. 

Primarily responsible for ministering to and cultivating the faith of our youth to be lifelong followers of Jesus Christ, the right candidate will be committed to working with clergy, leaders, and parents to engage in ministry to the youth of the church - encouraging their faith in Jesus Christ, equipping them to be in ministry and mission, and training them to be leaders in their community. 

Currently, educational formation occurs after the 9:30 Sunday service (coinciding with formation offerings for all ages), with additional youth events/gatherings for activities and further spiritual development to be scheduled regularly. The position will entail 10-15 hours per week, and church leadership will work with the successful candidate to define working hours and responsibilities suited to his or her particular needs and gifts.

Youth Ministry Coordinator (Half time)

Sunday worship includes three services in English and one in Spanish with an average Sunday attendance over 400.

Job responsibilities include recruiting and supporting volunteers, engaging youth in Sunday worship and various programs for youth, managing communications with youth, parents, volunteers and the church community, and planning special social activities and service projects.  The position requires a bachelor’s degree and knowledge of Spanish is preferred.
