"My Greatest Experience Ever"

August 27, 2014

This summer, Ket Net Pree, a young student whose is part of the St. Paul's Burmese Refugee Ministry at St. Paul's Church by-the-Lake in Rogers Park, attended Camp Chicago.

Ket, his parents, and two younger siblings recently arrived in the United States from a United Nations refugee camp along the Thai-Myanmar border. Judith Gramer of St. Paul's writes that "Ket is a respectful and very hard working young man" who works hard to care for his siblings while his parents work to provide a home for their family.

After his week of camp, Ket wrote to thank Camp Chicago Director Chad Senuta, saying, "Every thing you did was fun. I wanted to spend more time with you because you were awesome." Ket also enclosed an essay he wrote about the experience, saying, " Camp Chicago has been my greatest experience of my life."
