Full On Faith Week at Northern Illinois Food Bank

January 26, 2016

The diocesan Hunger Committee invite congregations to "put faith into action" by helping hungry neighbors during Full on Faith week at the Northern Illinois Food Bank.  Sign up to volunteer in Geneva, Rockford, or Park City during the week of February 22-27, 2016 (the second full week of Lent) and help the Food Bank fill all volunteer shifts with members of faith groups.  Learn more and sign up here.

About the Northern Illinois Food Bank

The Northern Illinois Food Bank supplies food pantries, soup kitchens, after school programs and more in its 13-county area, which includes much of the Diocese of Chicago. (Cook County is served separately by the Greater Chicago Food Depository.)  Volunteers at three centers make it possible to serve 71,000 neighbors in need each week.

Women’s groups, men’s groups, inter-generational groups (ages 8 and up), and all other church groups are invited to participate. In conjunction with Full on Faith week, congregations may also reserve a meeting space at the Geneva or Rockford locations, invite a Food Bank speaker to your church, or host a food or fund drive.  Please contact Shannon Thompson, 630-443-6910 x125 or by email.
