One Book, One Diocese: Living Into God's Dream

January 04, 2017

As he's done in years past, Bishop Lee will lead an online book discussion during Lent. This year's book is Living Into God's Dream: Dismantling Racism in America, a collection of essays edited by Catherine Meeks, which combines personal stories and theological reflection with real-world examples of the ways in which new conversations on race can be forged. The book is available online from Church Publishing, Amazon (book and Kindle formats), and other retailers.

"This past spring I had the great privilege to travel to Atlanta with a small group of lay leaders and clergy to learn more about the relationship-building work of the Beloved Community of the Diocese of Atlanta, led by Catherine Meeks, " said Bishop Lee. "Our time together affirmed that we are called to continue our conversations about dismantling racism in our diocese, and our world, and I believe this book will help us on that journey."

The discussion will begin on Ash Wednesday, March 1, with information shared in the diocesan e-news, and on the website and Facebook page.
